Hi there and welcome to my little corner of the internet! My name is Madeline Kelly and I am the designer and calligrapher behind Golden Hour Paper located in Charleston, South Carolina.

This custom wedding invitation and calligraphy business blossomed from a dream that had been stifled for far too long. I complained in high school that there weren't calligraphy classes, would hand-letter posters to hang anywhere and everywhere, and have an annoying habit of stopping longer than the average person to look at letters (whether they be diner signs, graffiti, or manholes lining the streets of New York City).

I strive for creative excellence when creating custom wedding invitations, addressing envelopes, and in all other aspects of this business. Knowing the importance of a wedding day, I aim to communicate clearly with my couples and go above and beyond their expectations.

            Beauty surrounds us in creation and there is nothing like receiving a beautiful envelope addressed in calligraphy. The sparked curiosity of what could be inside, seeing your name written in beautiful letterforms, and knowing there is even more treasure inside. Oh and sometimes the difficulty of having to wait to open it until your spouse, family, or others to arrive home!

A little bit more about me...I absolutely love baking - if you'd like my world famous cookie recipe, send me a message! I also love long road trips, anything lavender flavored, and zip lines. I start every morning with a fresh cup of French press coffee, reading and playing with my 2 kids.

I end each day with an "I love you" to my family. If I could only spend my time in one place, it would be on or in the water. Swimming, boating, walking beside it, fishing, or even a midnight dip!
